Where Does Pennsylvania Rank Among States with Most Super Bowl Touchdown Scorers?
Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

There aren’t a lot of states that have produced more top-level football players than Pennsylvania. Thirty-two Hall of Fame inductees hail from towns and cities from Philadelphia to Erie and Pittsburgh and have made their way into the halls of Canton over the years.

Given that NFL dominance, it’s likely of little surprise to football fans and PA gambling sites that the Keystone State has produced a lot of Super Bowl talent since the event first started in 1967. In fact, Pennsylvania accounts for 19 Super Bowl touchdowns.

PennStakes.com – your source for PA online casinos – made a list of the top 10 states for Super Bowl touchdowns. Utilizing Pro-Football-Reference.com, we broke down by state the 314 touchdowns scored in Super Bowl history.

Where Pennsylvania Ranks

Nationally, the 19 touchdowns scored by Pennsylvania natives ranks in a tie with New Jersey for fourth, behind Florida (37), Texas (35) and California (24).

This year’s Super Bowl features two skill-position players from Pennsylvania: Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers Rashee Rice and Justin Watson. They have 116 catches for 1,398 yards with 10 touchdowns between them this season.

Rice has been especially dominant in his rookie season, with 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. He has posted, per Pro-Football-Reference.com, an approximate value of 8 for Kansas City.

Watson has been almost as valuable. He has a career-high 4 AV and has nearly doubled his career receiving yardage total (1,033) in 2023 alone.

Both will look to add to Pennsylvania’s impressive Super Bowl touchdown total come Feb. 11. Right now, BetRivers PA has the Chiefs as a slight 2-point and +107 moneyline underdog.

Chiefs MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes hails from Texas, one of the states that ranks ahead of PA, which means the Keystone State likely still will be ranked no higher than fourth after the game.
