Sixers Fare Reasonably Well In October

PennStakes.com, the home of the best PA sportsbook promo codes, consulted the ChampsorChumps.us website for October records of every NBA team since the 2017-18 season. Not every team played the same number of October games in that span, so our rankings are based on winning percentage. No games were played in October during the COVID-delayed 2020-21 NBA season.

The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the top 10 October records since 2017-18, going a respectable 19-14, for a .576 winning percentage. That puts them at No. 10 among NBA teams for October records. Teams that have excelled during those years were the Milwaukee Bucks with a league-best 22-9 mark (a .710 winning percentage), followed by the Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz, both at 23-10, .697.

Philadelphia 76ers' 2023-24 Outlook

The Sixers have three October games to start 2023-24 beginning on Oct. 26 in Milwaukee to play the Bucks followed by Oct.  28 in Toronto and then their home opener on Oct. 29 against Portland. For that opener against Milwaukee, Caesars Sportsbook Pennsylvania has Philly as a 6-point underdog as of Monday afternoon.

The season-opener has some star-power attached to it. The Bucks now have Damian Lillard in the fold to go along with Giannis Antetokounmpo this season. They were 58-24 in the regular season in 2022-23 but were eliminated early in the playoffs by Miami. Toronto was .500 in the regular-season in 2022-23 but failed to get out of the play-in round. Utah was 37-45 and did not qualify for the playoffs.

Last season in October, the Sixers went 4-4 after starting the season with a three-game losing streak. They got hot in December with an eight-game winning streak and then had runs of seven victories (January) and eight wins (March) later in the campaign.
