The City of Brotherly Love is currently on the winning high of a historic sports period. The Philadelphia Eagles are right there in the thick of it as PA sports betting sites have bettors looking to take home positive wagering opportunities.

While most eyes will be on the Philadelphia Phillies hosting Game 5 of the World Series Thursday night in a possible clinching scenario, the Eagles (7-0) will visit the Houston Texans (1-5-1) to start Week 9 of the NFL regular season looking to remain undefeated and another step closer to history.

The Eagles have won all five previous meetings between the teams and are looking to begin a season 8-0 for the first time in franchise history.

How the Eagles Are Doing This

There are several the reasons the Eagles have been a solid play on Pennsylvania sports betting apps. For example, they are a remarkable +96 points in the second quarter this season and have a league-low two turnovers, becoming just the second team in the Super Bowl era with two or fewer giveaways through their first seven games of a season (2017 Kansas City Chiefs, one turnover).

Quarterback Jalen Hurts has won 10 consecutive starts, dating back to last season (longest such streak by a QB in Eagles history) and set career highs in touchdown passes (four) and passer rating (140.6) in the team’s 35-13 home victory over its in-state rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, last Sunday.

The Eagles’ defense is stepping up as well. It is ranked second in the NFC in scoring defense (16.9 points per game allowed) and total defense (298.1 yards allowed per game).

Updated Eagles Future Odds

The Eagles keep climbing the board of oddsmakers for Pennsylvania NFL betting.

As of Wednesday morning, the Eagles are a 14-point (-110) and -900 moneyline favorite over the Texans (+14, -110) at FanDuel Sportsbook Pennsylvania.

The over/under total points at is at 44.5 (over, -115; under -105).

The Eagles lead the NFC East and are the prohibitive favorites (-370) to win their 12th division title and first since 2019. The Dallas Cowboys are the next closest at +400.

Currently, Philadelphia (+195) is the favorite to win the NFC Championship with the San Francisco 49ers (+550), Cowboys (+550), Minnesota Vikings (+600) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1000) rounding out the top five.

For the Super Bowl, the Eagles are the second favorite (+550) to capture the franchise’s second title, right behind the Buffalo Bills (+230).

The Kansas City Chiefs (+700), 49ers (+1300) and Baltimore Ravens (+1400) make up the top five.
