Free Poker Tournament Is a Tribute to Brunson

Pennsylvania online poker players can pay tribute to the ”Godfather of Poker,” plus get an opportunity to earn some prizes, all for free, as the PokerStars North American Championship of Online Poker winds down in early October.

A free tournament, called the Ten-Deuce freeroll, is being held Oct. 2 on the last day of the NACOOP, which is currently going on at PokerStars in eligible jurisdictions. The Ten-Deuce description at Pokers Stars PA is a nod to the late Doyle Brunson, the “Godfather of Poker,” who passed away in May and won the World Series of Poker Main Event twice with the starting hand of 10-2. That starting hand is now simply known as “A Brunson.”

In keeping with the theme of the freeroll, in the Pennsylvania online casino market, poker players will have the chance to win $10,200 in prize pools in the freeroll.

Ten-Deuce in Other Select Markets

The promotion is also being held in the shared liquidity states, New Jersey and Michigan, as well as separately in Ontario. Players in those places also will have the opportunity to win $10,200 worth of prizes in the freeroll.

Players must be located within the eligible jurisdictions in order to participate. Tickets can be claimed via the PokerStars client, according to a PokerStars news release. Players can register for the freeroll in the tournament lobby. For information on the NACOOP, visit the PokerStars Blog.
