Eagles Open As Big Favorites vs. Cowboys in 2025 Opener

The folks at DraftKings Sportsbook PA are riding high on the Eagles following their Super Bowl victory and offseason moves. They open the season as -7 favorites over the Cowboys, a team they swept in 2024. As a matter of fact, the Eagles outscored the Cowboys 75-13 last season.

A win will mean a lot for the Eagles playoff chances, getting an early-sason win against a divisional rival. To top it off, it'll come just a few hours after making the Cowboys watch them raise their brand new Super Bowl flag at Lincoln Financial Field.

Cowboys Starting New Era

Dallas has made few moves more important this offseason than firing Mike McCarthy and hiring Brian Schottenheimer, most recently the man at the helm of the Cowboys' 21st-place scoring offense. He'll need a lot more out of Dak Prescott who's still the man in charge at QB, and he takes a 9-4 overall record against the Eagles into the matchup.

Season Opener is Kind to Super Bowl Champ

Dating back to 2004 the defending Super Bowl Champion has played in 20 openers, going 15-5 over that span. The Eagles contributed to one of those 15 wins back at the start of 2018. Then, the Eagles defeated the Atlanta Falcons 18-12 primarily thanks to the legs of RB Jay Ajayi. You can bet the Eagles will be relying on RB Saquon Barkley's legs this September.
