We used Google Trends to find each state’s average RSV (relative search volume) between Nov. 8, 2022 and Nov. 8, 2023, for these terms: Botox, rhinoplasty, liposuction, lip fillers, abdominoplasty and breast augmentation. We then ranked those terms based on popularity.
Based on the results, it is evident that Pennsylvania residents are generally less inclined toward plastic surgery, especially when compared to some more glam-obsessed areas of the nation.
Unsurprisingly, Florida and California lead the list of states where residents show the highest interest for plastic surgery. Their average search volume of 86.3 and 81.7 points ranks first and second, respectively.
This evidence supports the success and fortune of Dr. Miami, the renowned physician with multiple plastic surgery practices in South Florida as well as the consultant for numerous A-list celebrities. Beverly Hills is also widely considered as the epicenter for plastic surgery, home to acclaimed practices that many celebrities choose as their preferred destination, aligning with the glamor of Hollywood.
Pennsylvania can be found on the lower half of this list, ranking No. 38 with 55 average search volume points. Residents would much rather invest their money in areas beyond personal enhancement through manual procedures. Following Pennsylvania to complete the top 40 are North Dakota and Virginia, tied with 54.83 average search volume points.
