PA Among Most Eco-Friendly States Heading into Earth Day

The 54th edition of Earth Day will be March 20 and 192 countries will celebrate.

PennStakes.com paused from PA sports betting before March Madness and used data from Google Trends between Feb. 29-March 7 to see which states were searching for “Earth Day” and “Sustainability.”

Then, we used information from SolarPower.Guide to inform what the solar installations per capita are in the states found searching the above Google Trends criteria.

PennStakes.com, which also has all you need on online PA casinos, created a system based on the average search interest scores and the solar installations per capita to create an overall ranking of the most sustainable states. Here are the top states that are best at doing their part:

PA Ranks High on List

The Keystone State tied with Kansas for seventh on the list. Solar installations per capita in the state totaled 265.10 with an average search interest score of 62.

Close to 500 solar companies make Pennsylvania home. More than 65,000 installations already have been completed with more on the way.

According to MarketWatch Guides, here are some of the top reviewable solar companies in the state: Sunpower, Sunrun, Momentum Solar, Palmetto Solar, Trinity Soloar, Solar Energy World and Venture Solar.

Hawaii heads the top 10 rankings with a remarkable 6,403.31 solar installations per capita and a search score of 69. The highest search score on the list was 100 by the smallest state in the union, Rhode Island, which also tied for the top spot.
