Pennsylvania’s Favorite Cities to Visit

Fact Checked by Pat McLoone

There are places to visit within the Keystone State and there are places in other states that Pennsylvanians love to visit.

So, PennStakes.com took a break from coverage of Pennsylvania sports betting to uncover which destinations in the U.S. Pennsylvanians prefer.

We started with Google Trends to determine the most searched cities by each U.S. state for the term “Flights To,” plus the most often searched city at the end of the phrase. After completing the trends over the past 12 months (from June 25, 2022, to June 25, 2023), we were able to find results to get the top three cities for the state of Pennsylvania. Any cities within the state were not included.

PA Loves Flying to Florida

The top two cities Pennsylvanians like to visit are in the state of Florida: Orlando and Miami. A surprising third is the second biggest city in the country, Chicago.

Orlando: Every family’s dream is to one day visit Orlando to see some of the most amazing amusement parks in the world, such as Disney World, Universal and SeaWorld. Throw in sun, beaches, beautiful weather and plenty of golf courses, it is understandable why Pennsylvanians would travel south to visit.

Miami: Plenty of sun and fun in Miami as well. It is very understandable why one would travel there given the climate and outdoor activities.

Chicago: It is interesting to this writer that Chicago landed within the top three.
Same seasonal weather four times a year and the Windy City has its share of sports rivalries like both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
